Collaboration with a U.S. Electronics Retailer on Paper Display Stands for Mobile Phone Accessories

This client is based in the United States. Their store specializes in mobile phone accessories and operates in the retail sector, serving end consumers. For display stands used with this type of electronic product, paper display stands are a suitable choice because these items are lightweight and do not require high load-bearing capacity. Additionally, since new models are released frequently, the display stands need to be able to accommodate different promotional setups quickly.

March 12, 2024: Received an inquiry and clarified the client’s core needs


That morning, just as I had finished organizing the after-sales feedback from a previous batch of Mexican clients, an inquiry from the U.S. popped up in my email.

Core Requirements

The store specializes in retail sales of mobile phone accessories, including phone cases, chargers, data cables, headphones, power banks, and other products. Following the launch of new spring products, they require a batch of lightweight and practical paper display stands for in-store display and promotions. The order is for 200 units, with a manageable budget and easy assembly. They hope to see a proposal as soon as possible. They even provided some key dimensional specifications.

March 12–15, 2024: Discussing Requirements and Initial Proposal

On the day the inquiry was received, our colleague Tina responded immediately, asking detailed questions about the store’s display space, standard accessory dimensions, and whether custom store branding was needed. She also attached sample images of several Topwon paper display stands designed for electronic accessories. On March 15, the client provided specific requirements: the display stands must feature a multi-compartment design to clearly distinguish between different categories of accessories; they must meet weight-bearing standards; be made of eco-friendly corrugated cardboard; and be easy for store staff to assemble quickly without additional training.

March 15–22, 2024: Finalizing the proposal, confirming samples, and signing the order

Based on the client’s needs, we finalized the display stand proposal that same day, focusing primarily on countertop and small freestanding models.

Small Freestanding Units


Small freestanding units are placed along aisles to display chargers, data cables, and power banks. Their multi-tiered compartment design ensures clear categorization and saves space. On March 18, we shipped two sets of samples. On March 22, the client confirmed the samples met expectations, particularly noting that the ease of assembly fully met the store’s needs. An order for 200 display stands was immediately placed, with delivery scheduled for April 10.

March 23–April 8, 2024: Rush Production and Early Delivery

After the order was confirmed, we strictly controlled the quality of the corrugated cardboard material and manufacturing processes, prioritizing the display stands’ load-bearing capacity and ease of assembly to prevent issues such as deformation or complicated assembly. The entire team worked overtime to complete the production and packaging of the 200 display stands by April 8. The shipment was dispatched to the U.S. that same day—two days ahead of the agreed-upon delivery date—ensuring the client could use them in time for their spring new product promotion. Although the terms were FOB, we still considered the client’s shipping costs and calculated the timing carefully to ship via ocean freight.

April 20, 2024: Goods Arrived, Positive Client Feedback

On April 20, the client confirmed that the shipment had been received without issue. All display stands arrived in perfect condition, and store staff were able to assemble them in just a few minutes without any training. After deploying the display stands in the stores, the previously cluttered mobile phone accessories were organized neatly, significantly improving customer selection efficiency. Many customers made spontaneous purchases due to the clear displays, leading to a noticeable increase in mobile phone accessory sales. The client explicitly stated that they would prioritize us for future restocking.
