DIY Earring Display Stand

I made two 25×30 cm earring and stud display trays that can be placed horizontally or vertically like a display stand, or hung up. Here’s a breakdown of the tools used and techniques involved.

I. Materials and Tools

Picture frame (select size based on your needs). I chose a 25x30cm frame from a flea market to showcase a wider variety of styles. 1cm thick foam board (or packing foam), marker pen, ruler, scissors, cotton fabric (or old clothes you no longer wear; choose colors based on preference—I went with pure black since my earrings are vibrant and black complements them best), Glue (or hot glue gun). Except for the frame, all these materials were readily available at home.

II. DIY Process

The technique is straightforward: Remove the acrylic sheet and paper from the frame. Using the back panel as a template, trace the foam dimensions onto it. The foam should be about 2 cm shorter and narrower than the panel. Measure and mark precisely with a ruler to avoid crooked cuts. Next, cut the fabric, ensuring it’s 2-3 cm larger than the foam in all dimensions. Stretchable fabric works best; if not, allow an extra 3-4 cm. After cutting, straighten the metal clips on the back of the frame with scissors. Carefully position the foam and fabric, pulling them taut to cover the frame. Check the front for smoothness, then flatten the metal clips completely. You can now hang your earrings. Both studs and drop earrings can be displayed, and the process is very straightforward.

III. Alternative Option: Corrugated Cardboard Earring Display Stand
